well, considering 'Gothic' is a style of church, dont use that to describe it, and 'emo' is a horrible classification that everyone fits into. And Invader Zim was a dark and gloomy show from its original airing, it did not 'become' like that, it always was.

I don't know. I think it was a show that the "cool kids" didn't watch. It also dealt with an outcast being forced to be somewhere they don't want to be. But that's probably looking into it too much. Maybe they just like the show. I'd bet on seeing an emo person with a shirt about a cartoon on before another group of people. Its just a style i guess.

Invader Zim isn't exactly Barney the dinosaur to begin with. It's a dark cartoon. Too bad they never made more episodes of it. :(
I don't think people wearing Gir T-shirts counts as emo. A lot of people who are into rock wear black T shirts all the time and aren't emo or anything. I'm not much of into the western idea of goth anyways. I find goth to be boring, but I like Japanese Lolita goth clothing a lot.
