Can he really take on the entire DCU?!

Question: In DC's World War 3 Black Adam took on most of the DC universe and for the most part won. Is he really that tough, or was it just all the despair and grief of losing his family again? And on a side note is it just me, or is it the more I read Black Adam the more I feel for and admire him?

Obviously not. There are many potent individuals much more powerful than Black Adam. Just a handful of them in my mind includes Superboy-prime, Spectre, Superman, and Captain Marvel as the new "Shazam."

The writers obviously portrayed Black Adam's new look with a bit of despair and grief you early described. The writers wrote WWIII to increase the popularity of Black Adam and the Marvel family, especially since Superman sales have surpass that of Captain Marvel lately. And probably most of us here have already a new insight into Black Adam's mind and on his reputaiton.

Seething with fury, Adam flies to the neighboring nation of Bialya, where Death has taken refuge.

I think DC has done a great job with the character, making him sympathetic, but still dangerous. His power level is comparable to Superman's, and considering the rage he was in during WW3, taking on the entire DCU was certainly within his range.
