For your info, Manga is the Japanese art form of drawing comics.

well a manga is basically a comic book, but i like mangas better, they actually have a storyline

They are both comics but anime/manga has a different style of art. I believe they are more popular than comic books. I prefer anime.
You shouldn't insult something like that, makes you sound like a narrow-minded adult. And John C is right, manga is the Japanese word for comics... Anime is the equivalent of cartoons... Besides the fact that drawing styles are obviously different, preference (for most people) would come down to storyline, script, and/or voice-acting.
Hope you would open your mind a little more next time before you ask a question like this.
Anime beats comics almost every time. Sonic the Hedgehog from Archie comics is the only time comics wins, other then that one, anime wins every time.
Come on, Geoff, you threw in "I'm an adult" because you knew how childish your question was and felt it needed a disclaimer. Why would an adult ask such an obnoxiously loaded question. "Hey, do you like the Red Sox, or those lame, *****, cheating flamers the Yankees? Me, I'm all man, so I like the Red Sox, obviously. Oh, by the way, I'm an adult. I went through puberty even, and finally moved out of Mom's basement this summer."
Your CBDB listing shows you actually have enough taste to have read both volumes of Steve Gerber's excellent and under appreciated Hard Time, so I'd think you'd know better than to post a question like this. Just because you don't personally care for something doesn't mean an entire genre qualifies as "crud". I don't care for Wonder Woman, never been impressed by her, doesn't mean all her stories are crap and everyone who likes them likes crap, just means I don't care for it. Same with you and Manga.
And given that the overwhelming majority of question topics in this section are about anime/manga, of course you're going to get people saying they like Manga just fine. Your question is loaded, asked in a location with an opposite bias, and it's not like you're going to be swayed by the outcome of your poll, so I'm curious why you're even asking? You don't need to ask any selection of people to know that manga is popular, more popular than American comics, all you need to do is look at sales figures: Annual Manga sales are over 30 million, the American comics market does something like 7 million annually (that's in issues sold, not dollars)

I'm an adult myself. XD (At least that is what I tell myself) I enjoy both regular comic books or anime/manga. I really have no prefrences. Though I do enjoy manga/anime more than comics nowadays. Many things have to do that there is no ending to comics. It just goes on and on and on and on. (They something really remind me of soap opera's. No ending.) You get the point. I also despise when certain comic characters get killed or characters get traded. But then again comics have there good points too. I'm enjoy X-men, the darkness, walking dead, and occasionally spiderman but something they just get old. But that's just my opinion.
While mangas eventually have their limit and they do eventually end. Sometime for the good or bad.
So to end my rambling. I enjoy both but if I had a choice between the 2 I'd still choose manga/anime. ^ ^

It just depends on the story line and art work.
During the last 15 years there have been a ton of junky comicbooks and manga.. with the cost of each medium going up, you have to just pick the stuff that looks like you enjoy to read or keep up with.
