Heroes?? can you regenerate a chopped off head?!
Question: me and my friend are huge fans of the tv show heroes and in the end of the most recent episode hiro is about to attack peter and then it ends. earlier in the episode a women tries to shoot a regenerating chracter in the head and she is stopped. Its said that the characters can regenerate unless thier head is gone so if a sword is goin through the neck can it regenerate?? i say no but my friend says yes we would like some more opinions. thaks

I kinda have to disagree as far as whether it has been settled enough in the show to know for sure.
By what the show has shown with Claire and Peter, there is an area of the brain that must be intact. This is reinforced by Sylar's looking for something in the brain to take abilities.
Now if Hiro severed Peter or Adam's spine, could they heal? I think it would be possible. I think so far the show has indicated your brain has to remain intact. A shotgun blast to the head would probably create an issue while a severed head could potentially be healed... More along the lines of the body regrowing from the head rather than the head growing from the body.
so the head just comming off I dont think is sure death if the two pieces came in contact they would heal but Blown away I think would as every last piece couldnt be found
It's already been shown the regeneration doesn't work if the spinal cord is severed. Once when Claire had that tree trunk or something splintered in her... until they removed the piece she was dead.... Another time when Peter had the glass go into his neck his regeneration wouldn't work.
No, the head cannot be regenerated because in the context of the storyline it is the brain that is the focus of the life force. Remove the head and the character dies.
well, I was thinking that if the characters get a shot to the head, they remain dead until the bullet is removed.
Now, I would think that if their heads were chopped off they would die unless somebody sews the head back to the body; before either/both parts decompose.
Remember how Peter blew up on the last episode of the first season? They never said what exactly happened, but the blast must have been strong enough to blow up Peter into many pieces, he could have been able to get all those pieces back so quick that he regenerated fast enough.
This is very similar to Majin-Bu (Dragon Ball Z), only he could make anything out of any little piece of his body, even another one of himself!
