Question: I keep reading questions about this. It must be some sort of animated character, right? Or what is it?

I'ts Japenese animation. for example... you might know these: Poke'mon, DragonBall Z, Hamtaro....
It's different than U.S. animation in many ways.... American cartoons are drawn with thicker lines than in anime, Most anime has a continous plot, and mostly anime is for teenagers... they have very good plots... their eyes are drawn much bigger.... more violence and suggestive content... not as strict as we are....
anime is my favorite to watch. Mine is Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist.
But i love myself some loony toons! :D
p.s. i literaly spend allday drawing anime! :D

To my knowledge, anime is animation that hails from Japan. Anime is short for animation, but the term is used for what is Japanese usually. Anime isn't a character, but a style of drawing. Guess I'll add this, Korean manga is known as Manwa, I believe.
anime is just another word for animation but in japanese, avatar the last air bender is an anime but it's not from japan it has to do something with how the characters look like example their hair and eyes. it's different from simpsons and other American shows
