the latest chapter was the one where naruto, sai and sakura are going to the heaven and earth bridge..
they will go on the mission in order to find sasuke...
in those next episodes we will see sasuke again!

lets just say that the first scene in the first ep (the one thats like a foresightment or something) where sasuke appears is coming up soon. **SPOILER** the two characters in that scene that noone knows has already made their appearance in the show. ^^

well, he is with orochimaru, training so he can kill his brother, Itachi and then so orochimaru can take his body and continue trying to live forever. that is about it for now, but in the current episodes they are going to meet somebody who will be able to leak information to them about both akatsuki and orochimaru/sasuke. so yeah, he should be back soonish, which can take a while in naruto.
You don't see him because it's not the time for him to show up. :)
You'll get to see him later in the anime, though. I think you'll need to wait for about 10 episodes or a bit more before Sasuke actually shows up. I think he'll make his "shadowy" appearance sooner, perhaps around 4 to 5 episodes before he actually showed his new image. =^_^=
in the middle of the first part, he went rogue and went to join with orochimaru so that he could gain more power. he want the power in order to kill itachi, his brother, who killed off all of the uchiha village including his parents, but spared sasuke. they went through this whole arc about naruto, sakura, and jiriaya trying to find him, but they didnt have any luck.
so now they're to the point where sasori gave sakura a hint that he had a sky working with orochimaru and that he was going to be meeting sasori at the heaven and earth bridge. now, naruto, sakura, sai, and their temp. sensei, yamato, (kakashi's in the hospital from over-usage of his sharingan on their last mission)are going to capture the spy and try and use him to find out where sasuke is
so we should see him in just about 5-10 episodes.
