Answers: D.C. comics,I think.
I am not familiar with the character.

1894 Cyrus Gold was killed by robbers, they threw his body in a swamp (Slaughter Swamp) outside Gotham City. 40 yrs later he arose from the swamp, with his skin pasty white. His name is from the nursery school rhyme, and he was an enemy to the original Green Lantern. Soloman Grundy in simpler terms is a zombie w/ superhuman strength and invulnerability. It's said that it's nearly impossible for him to be killed. Aside from the original Green Lantern he's gone up against Superman and the Batman.

I believe you've meant:

Solomon Grundy is a DC Comics character, a large, strong zombie supervillain. Named after the eponymous 19th century children's nursery rhyme, he is an enemy of Green Lantern (particularly Earth's first bearer of that title, Alan Scott). He is also noted as being an enemy of Batman and Superman. He first appeared in All-American Comics #61 (1944).

Solomon Grundy is a large and very old enemy of the Golden Age Green Lantern. Originally drawn by the likes of Joe Kubert, Alex Toth and Carmine Infantino (in a style most of their modern fans wouldn't recognize) his origin has a lot in common with Swamp Thing, Marvel's Man Thing and Hillman's The Heap.

I'm more a fan of his forties appearances (before I was born) than of the recent ones. I won't discuss them. He is named after an old nursery rhyme:

Solomon Grundy,
Born on a Monday,
Christened on Tuesday,
Married on Wednesday,
Took ill on Thursday,
Grew worse on Friday,
Died on Saturday,
Buried on Sunday.
That was the end of
Solomon Grundy.
