The series was in production from 1991 to 1994, and again from 1996 to 2004. It aired from 1997-2000 and It is the longest lasting Nicktoon to date at thirteen years of longevity.

Sadly, and stupidly, they canceled it. The rugrats still come on sometimes on this network called Nicktoons. But dumb shows is over running them so i wouldn't get your hopes up. The rugrats had their anniversary a long time ago when they was making the series all grown up (it sucks).
Nickelodeon cancelled Rugrats because of All Grown Up and other shows they're doing including Spongebob Squarepants. The cast and crew of Rugrats wanted to work more on All Grown Up instead of Rugrats that caused the cancellation of Rugrats. Rugrats did two Tales From The Crib Specials in 2005 & 2006, & a spinoff series called Angelica's & Susie's Preschool Daze that only aired in Great Britian.
