To be an anime geek you must know how to
1) Behave as the characters from the anime. To do that you must first search for your favorite anime and character/s. then you can follow some of the most commonly use expression shown in the anime. (e.g Kakashi <Naruto> he is always talking in the slow pace and ya u just need to do some research on them and follow as what they did in the anime)
2) Since Otaku Anime is form Japan, you may as well consider taking up some Japanese lessons as you can feel more like the characters. (you can spend some money on picking up some Japanese lessons or just brows through the net and search some good online Japanese classes. However this is just an optional suggestion. But believe me, you would definitely have more fun if u know how to speak this language. V(^o^)V
3) You can hook your self in cosplay activities. (a famous Japanese sub culture where you can dress up as your fav anime characters) …..Again you can have a taste of being the “real” anime character you like.
4) You can also read a lot of anime or mangas to improve on the most commonly use expression.
5) Always have this spirit “think anime, see anime, read anime, eat anime, drink anime, and sleep anime” it workx hehe
6) Ernmm decorate your room with lots of lots of anime posters or figure toys
7) Also u can pay a visit to this site (www.narutocentral.com) to check out the “Naruto addiction” thingy….<they have lots of “Naruto” character’s characteristic listed there just master all of the thingy over there.>
8) Get inspiration from anime OST (aka getting strength by listening to lots of anime music)
9) Follow the characteristic or daily action form your fav anime (e.g Naruto…you can only eat Ramen every meals…. draw a Qubi sign on your stomach and claim you have a Qubi inside you…must wake up early in the morning and practive your throwing blade (shuriken) or just buy some red contact lances form some optical shops and claims you have “Uchiha” blood…etc…etc….)
10) Just take some anime book and a MP3 with anime songs in it where ever u go
After doing all these 10 thingy…u r surely become an anime geek …good luck and have fun !!!
just watch lotsa animes, and read lotsa mangas..
once you get engrossed in them, you'll learn on your own ^^
Watch a variety of anime series and read a variety of manga. Find a place where you can discuss them, make friends with people who also like anime. And of course attend anime conventions. :)
Watch the animes and read the mangas. Don't confine yourself with just Inuyasha and Naruto. There are counless animes and mangas out there just waiting to be watched and read.
Try watching Death Note, Bleach, Kenichi and Kekkashi for starters. (action animes like the two you mentioned)
then try watching anime of different generes like DearS (ecchi), School Days (school life/ecchi), Ai Yori Ayoshi(romance/drama), The Melancholy of haruhi shizumiya(fantasy/romance) etc.
lets see as i ma anime geek i think u should read all the stories of different animes and tell the story to every moment to everybody whether they like it or not

watch the anime over and over to the point where you can name the eps and know the names of characters that only show up once.
for example:
if someone asked me what ep of inuyasha was it when kagome left to go back home and inuyasha followed her and broke her clock i would say "that was ep 38; "two hearts one mind"
it really helps if you collect the DVD's too. since that will help you remember the eps more and you canlearn more about characters and the theme songs. and not to forget voice over actors!!
you should be able to say, "yeah!! richard ian cox, the man who does the voice of inuyasha, is just sooo cool!!"
you should be able to name all of the band of 7 and know who you are talking about.
you should be able to say, "yeah! the third opening theme for inuyasha, "owarinai yume" by Aikawa Nanase was almost as good as the fifth ending "shinjitsu no uta" by do as infinity, who also sang the seconmd ending song "fukai mori".
The same for naruto!! learn the characters, plot, settings, groups, everything!! learn the voice over actors even!!!

Do anime-marathoning(may spoilt your eyesight) .... buy all the goods and stuffs related to the two animes(may cause you to broke).....try to imitate the characters(will make you look childish)
if you want to be a true blue anime geek drop those titles as fast as you can and watch some real anime
