I think Samurai 7 is one of the better anime out there. It's based off Akira Kurosawa's black and white masterpiece, Seven Samurai. I think Samurai 7 anime did the original movie a lot of justice, but still possessed its own unique flavor.
I think the ending was great! There couldn't have been any other way around it; because it's based off a previous work, it's only right that it should stay true to the original as much as possible (something that Hollywood has yet to grasp the concept of), especially the original ending.
Also, the ending was very realistic; they were basically fighting a war, so it's a given that characters will die along the way.
Sorry I'm not allowed to see it. My Ninjitsu Master has forbidden me from viewing a sad portrayal of Martial Arts.
I think it was average. I didn't find that anime title all that great. sorry. I think the robo-samurai was a bit funny though.
