Why are there female transformers?!

Question: I was looking up the second movie, and I saw that alot of ppl wanted Arcee(I think i got it right?) to be in it. She is a girl.
But autobots dont procreate and dont have different *parts*.
Why do they have a gender at all? I always saw them as "its."
Is there a reason they decided to have female machines?

They're just one of those stupid things that the writers had to add to appease the people that wanted the Transformers to be more gender friendly.

Some comic book writers kind of referenced this when they first introduced Arcee in one of the comics (I think it may have been the UK version or a non-canon issue). The Autobots created her in response to some loud mouth feminist bi**h who thought that the Autobots were degrading women and what not by not having any "females". After Arcee was built the Autobots realized that it was wrong of them to create a female Autobot just to appease the feminists, but they came to the realization that she was a valuable member of the team after one of the first missions that she joined them in which made it alright somehow.

I do remember reading somewhere that said that the reason that they have male or female qualities is because they developed/adopted them while studying humans and what not so that they could interact with them better but they are definitely genderless. I don't remember exactly how the explanation was phrased, but I thought that it made pretty good sense at the time.

even optimus prime gots to get his freak on in the middle of the night. yeah yeah

ah yes, transformers philosophy.
i would agree they they are "its" but it's also kind of obvious that they possess masculine qualities. also, the autobots and decepticons are warriors, and like most militaries, they don't usually include women. maybe the autobots were being progressive in their thinking by allowing arcee to be one of them?

I don't know, I'm still stumped as to why there are male transformers. They don't have any sexual reproductive organs so it's impossible for there to be a male or female transformer.

Is that why "its" have male deep voices? silly they want to open up to a broader audience. Plus men dont rule the world...all the time. :)

It's for all the little girls in the audience.
