There's an anime called jigoku shoujo that has a similar resemblance to death note, but there was not exactly any wit involved, so if that was what she was looking for then sorry, I may not be involved.
However, jigoku shoujo is similar in a way because there is a website where only people with revenge in their hearts can access--but only at midnight. You type in the name of the person you want to take revenge on, and you either receive a phone call or Enma Ai (the jigoku shoujo) directly visits you. Then you would be presented a doll with a string on it. If you pull that string, the person you wish to take revenge on will be sent immediately to... jigoku. However, if you do pull the string, you would also reach that destination when you die.
I thought it was pretty similar to death note, but a bit repetitive. You can watch a bit of it, and see if you like it.
If your daughter is willing to try out other types of anime, she should try out fullmetal alchemist.
Have you tried uhhhh Black Cat or Naruto or uh elemental Gelade i cant think of anything else
