Which manga of Naruto do I have to read....?!

Question: ..covers things that don't happen in the anime,
like the Kakashi Gaiden

Answers: ..covers things that don't happen in the anime,
like the Kakashi Gaiden

I had the same problem, most events that happened prior to Naruto 1 are mixed in the manga any you're only shown quick glimpses then back to the original script (like Jiriya and his past students in the current manga Pein was his student and it flashes back for the relevance in the current story). Kakashi Gaiden is available on youtube.

Well the manga starts Naruto Shippuden at volume 28. So just keep reading. The volume 27 leads into volume 28.

As for the anime:

I would stop wacthing after episdoes 150 from then on the rest are just fillers so they can make Naruto Shippeuden then sart wacthing again at episode 221:Homecoming.

150: Deceive, Confuse, and be Deceived. The Grand Bug Battle:With Hinata's safety in danger, the group must try and figure out a way to save Hinata, and protect the Bikouchuu at the same time. Every time one side seems to have an edge though, the other reveals yet a new trick. As dawn approaches, they don't have long to do either. In the end, naruto, Kiba, and Shino fall into a trap. Can they escape? And, can Hinata save herself from her current situation?

220:Two and a half years have passed since Naruto went with Jiraiya to train. Now he has returned, and although most things are the same, other things have changed. From Konohamaru becoming a genin to Tsunade's head being added to the Great Stone Faces. Now, Naruto resumes his old life, only he's changed as well.
