It's a common fact that the Digimon movies that are shown during near the end of the series (the spring movies) will most probably not fit in with the ending of the TV series, this due the facts that the movies were made midway during the series before the TV series ending have been decided.

In short, the spring Digimon Tamers movie (that featured the runaway Locomon) isn't directly connected with the Digimon Tamers TV's series ending.

The movie was made under the assumption that the Digimons aren't gone for good (just like the ending of Digimon Adventure, the first TV series) at the ending of the Digimon Tamers TV series, but obviously the writers want to end Digimon Tamers more dramatically and differently than the last two Digimon TV series (the first TV series ended with temporary separation, while the second TV series ended with permanent bondage).

Another example of the spring movie don't match with the TV series ending is the Diablomon no Gyakushu movie (the spring Digimon Adventure 02 movie).

It plays a joke on coupling, by showing a very 'incriminating' photo of Yamato spreaded around by Diablomon (who is very upset and hungry for revenge at Taichi and Yamato).

When the photo was shown during a briefing done by the Chosen Children, the whole attendants of the briefing become silent, including the loud Daisuke who unknowingly joked on Taichi's 'incriminating' photo that was shown previously.

Yamato's face was shown with a dark look, like he have commited a very horrible crime, along with Miyako subtly chasten Yamato (she talked like she's talking badly about Diablomon, but her nasty stares are obviously directed at Yamato) and Iori giving a puzzled look to Yamato.

Of course, in the movie, it was only a joke, and the ending photograph featured a relatively much neutral coupling.

However that 'joke' become a very 'cruel' joke to fans considering on how the TV series ended.

Nevertheless, Diablomon no Gyakushu do highlight the seriousness of the 'crime' commited at the end of Digimon Adventure 02 TV series.
