Identify this anime series:?!
Question: I know this isn't much to go on, but I remember a friend in college showing me a dvd of an anime that seemed like it was straight out of d&d. There was a wizard, a couple fighters, and of course the lanky theif/jokester. The first scene focused on them fighting gargoyles (or some similar winged creatures) any thoughts on what the title of this is? I'm not even sure if it was a series or a long movie.

Sounds by your description as Lodoss War. I believe it and incarnations of it are a movie. Why not? a star...
