Answers: I've seen them as genres in anime but i don't know what they mean

Yuri literally means lily, but it refers to lesbian relationships. (The flower often is depicted toward meaning the vagina.)

Shounen literally means boy and refers to comics directed at boys or juveniles.

Shoujo literally is little girl and refers to comics directed at girls.

Yuri- female/female homosexual relationships
Shonen- Anime/Manga intended for boys
Shoujo- Anime/Manga intended for girls

Shojo means beautiful girl

Yuri: Girl Love (also known as shojo-ai)
Shonen: Boy
Shojo:Girl

i dunno what yuri is..but Shonen:Boys n Shoujo:Girl....

yuri = girls love. yuri is opposite of yaoi(I LOVE IT). shonen = guy. shojo = girl.

i just asked a question like that earlier
yuri is like girlxgirl
yaoi is boyxboy
shonen is anime thats directed for male viewers it usually has a lot of violence & fighting. thuink naruto, bleach, dbz, etc...
shojo is anime that's aimed for female viwers, they have prettier boys, [[shinier characters?]], & softer storylines. think sailor moon, etc.. [[idk a lot of shojo anime]]

yuri is girlXgirl in a mild form it can be call shojo-ai
(yaoi is boyxboy and shonen-ai)
shonen actually means BOY and shojo means GIRL but in the anime and manga world it is a term that relates to the main audience intended for that particular title

Shojo means young woman. and something with sexual referrences! Well physical ations!

MARYBETH REALLY KNOWS HER STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shoujo- girl
Shonen- boy
yuri- lesbian relationship (i think)
