Does any one recall a televison show from 80's that had a character that tur!

Question: I believe the show you are referring to is called "The Space Giants". It featured some sort of wizard named "Mathusela"and his three robots in their fight against evil monsters led by some bad guy named "Rodak" with an army of minions refered to as "Lugo men". The three robots were one called "Gam" who was the size of a ten year old and could change into a rocket large enough to carry a passenger. Another robot was a mother figure to Gam who went by the name of "Silvar" she was about the size of a woman and could also transform into a rocket. A third went by the name of "Goldar" he was fifty feet in height and would do most of the monster fighting as he was the most powerful one. All three robots could fire rockets from their abdomens and energy beams from head mounted antennas and also fire those same weapons in their rocket mode. The four of them lived in a volcano refered to as "Mount Olympus". Although the show was released in the U.S. in the early eighties, it premiered in Japan in 1967 and ran for about six months. I don't know what the Japanese words were for the show and I don't think it's been released on DVD although UTube has some clips. I hope this helps.

I think one of the transformers had that capability -- and yes, that series was from Japan before it came over to the States.
