Yes. pein killed him with his clones but Jiraiya had will power and forced himself to live for a bit longer so he would die with honor... then he officially died 383 with honor and fell into the water.
Tsunade won a bet. She bet that he would die so that he would live.

It is in Naruto manga 383, and yes, it is very sad to say, but he does die. He is very strong but Pain or Pein killed him. :(
