i mean, anime has taken up over 85% of the comics and animation section and there is no way that this is the same thing!!!
it should be "manga and anime" or something like that.
Comics and manga are completely different!! ok, so sure manga is a style of comic, but you cant compare a companyt like viz to marvel!! it is NOT the same!!! (manga is better ^^)
and anime is a form of animation.... but the same thing for comics and manga. calling it "animation" only undermines the true quality of anime. its ANIME!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, there will always be "haters" out there. You can either get over it or you can stop posting.
It would be nice if they had one that was also combined with manga, but the categories also have to be popular enough, this section is quite slow moving already. The area has too have some traffic

I agree with you. I'm a Batman Fan as much as I'm a Anime Fan. And its really frustrating that I don't get a good Batman questions or answers because they don't know what they are talking about. Even though Anime is animation it should have Its own Anime and Manga category. That way Comic book and Manga fans can have a breath of each other. I mean, I see a thousand questions about Naruto but no opinions about One More Day (They are breaking up Spideman's and MJ's Marriage with a freaking Deus Ex Machina) and it gets frustrating. So I am all for it. I can Talk about Vash and Kenshin here and Batman and The Punisher there. Good Idea.

It's not some simple task that Y!A can just go "oh, anime is popular, we can add a category for that." There is a lot more involved.
If you have an Anime and Manga section, you would have to rename the Comics and Animation section. Because reguardless of what you think, Anime IS an animation, and if this section doesn't get renamed there would be a TON of missplaced questions in the wrong topic. Especially with people being use to posting their questions in this section.
Then that brings up, what should we do with all the past history in Comics and Animation? There are a lot of anime questions here- but by no means all of them are. You can't manually go through the questions sorting them- there are far too many. Would you just let the old questions stay in the wrong category, or what? Not to mention the fact that you all the recorded stats for members would be meaningless. I am a top answerer in Comics and Animation (and in top 10 for this category) SOLEY because of anime/manga. If a new section comes up, I am now listed as being top answerer in section I don't care about- and have no points in a section where I got practically all of them from.
That may not mean much to me, or to others. But Yahoo set this system up, and they aren't going to completey screw it over and make it start from scratch without a very, very convincing reason.
And even if there were a new section, there would still be plenty of people going "anime sux" in questions every once and a while. Just report them, and ignore them. If enough report the person, they could get banned temporarily. That's what I always do.

Don't get me wrong, I like Anime, but the fans are just way too much for me. Always way too sensitive when it comes to TV SHOWS. Who cares? I think they deserve their own section so they won't go crying every time someone insults their precious Naruto.
But... why would you take away one of our best arguments to keep you here? We love you. :D

It would be awsome! Ive thought about it because there are people in this catagory talking about Billy and Mandy or Loony Toon, and it sometimes bothers me. Not that I have anything against it, but I think itd be so much better if we had an ANIME(in all it's glory) catagory! ^ ^ Great question!

As much as I love both Cartoons and Animes....It always ticks the Sh!T out of me when people categorize Anime and Cartoons are the same!!! They are 2 completely different styles!!!
