i think its the other way around.Because there is new technology there is animation advancements.Notice Toy Story barely had any characters with hair?Its because at the time technology could not calculate to a realistic extent the natural movement of hair unless individually programmed.Until monsters Inc. come out a few years later it was almost impossible but thanks to a new programme/software that enables the hair to automatically move according to the surrounding conditions. e.g gravity,wind,movement.And lets not get started about humans.
