Anime:Do you hate english dubs?!
Question: i dont HATE them.
it really depends on the voice over acting....
like i can watch naruto dubbed and subbed.... cuz it sounds good both way..... but the naruto subbes is better cuz they leave in all the "good stuff" if you know what i mean ^^
but for shows like angel sanctuary and green green... the voice over acting is just soooo bad!!! it sucks! i HAVE to watch the subs or its hard for me to endure!!

Not really..but I hate the English dub in Melancholy of Haruhi! The boy's voice sucks! It's getting on my nerves
nah, i dnt really hate english dubs but since m used to listening in japanese, so wen i hear it in english it sounds a bit weird. I used to watch the english dubs b4 but now i always watch d japanese ones.
yes i effing hate them. its unnatural and sounds very childish. good thing i dont understand jap. or i might have lost interest in animes cos they sound too childish. im not sure tho. maybe in jap doesnt sound bad or childish whether or not u understand. anw i juz HATE english dubbs. and from some of the dubbed episodes i saw before, the vid and sound quality arent as great as the original one in jap.
Yes! They always translate it wrong and voices suck! I prefer japanese but there are people who don't like reading so they watch with english dubs!

I dont hate english dubs. I think that sometimes the english dubs are funnier and more relatable than the japanese versions. Like sometimes they use japanese phrases that an american may not understand so... And sometimes the female characters voices in japanese tend to sound alike and those high pitch voices get old, esp. when you've heard it in ten other animes.
Yes I hate them!!!! They hardly ever match their tone with whats happening also.
No i only watch dubbed anime because i hate reading somthing while i watch something but most dubs suck like the naruto dub but i still watch it ....loopy fist....come on but ther are good dubs i think death note dub sounds good and trigun and cowboy bebop and fma but mostly i read manga

While I prefer subtitles, it don't hate English dubbing.
It just depends on how much care is taken in dubbing the work. Movies, specifically Miazaki's films, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away etc., are translated with great care , trying to match up with mouth movements, and voice actors are usually pretty good too.
Some TV series are OK too; But no matter how good the translation or voice overs, you always loose some small bit of information or inflection in the conversion from Japanese to English. That's why I prefer subtitles!
I do not hate english dubs, but they just suck. I hate it when they translate the words wrong. Ex: Naruto- Drunken Fist; Eng. Dub- Loopy Fist

Yea, I agree with you about the english dub kon - his voice is to calm, and Hitsugaya Toshiro's voice does not really fit either.
Subs are overall the best.
I don't hate them, but most of them aren't good.
Hayao Miyazaki's films have great english dubs. The best dub I've ever heard for a series is Cowboy Bebop. I've never even tried to see a subbed episode, because they dubbed it so well. It all depends. Most of the time, however, the dub just doesn't match the original japanese voice acting.
I hate Naruto's voice. it's the one reason I don't like to watch it. It's so grating. I mean, I know he's supposed to be annoying and all, but I don't think he's ear-bleeding annoying.
Well I wouldn't say I hate them,it just that I am more used to it in Japanese,after watching and listening to it after a while hearing there voices in English dub just sounds a little strange from what I am used to.
I dont hate english dubs because I think watching them is what got me into the entire 'anime scene' because before most of the shows came out in America I've never even heard of half of them. But some anime dubbed shows are just totally lame like one piece, they pretty much screwed that show up by dubbing it.
Nope. I loooove english dubs. I hate them in Japanese, because sometimes the Japanese voices are higher than normal, and they talk fast, and it sounds so weird. Thank goodness for dubs.

Some stuff, however, you just HAVE to watchin subs. (Like Mremaid Melody!)
But you know yo've watched waaay too much anime when you learn the entire Japanese language from watchign unsubbed anime.
Personally I like english dub better than having sub. Though if I really wan to watch something I will watch it subbed if I can't find it dubbed. I like dub better than sub because I think the voices match better in the dub versions.
