Does Gaara die in Naruto shippuunden?!

No, he does not die. The elder woman from the Sand transfers her life energy to Gaara (with Naurto help in channeling her chakra through Gaara), bringing Gaara back to life, in exchange for her.
She dies, but her last words were that for all the evils that her generation has created during the old Ninja Wars (ex. merging Gaara with the Sand Badger Demon (Shukaku) - creating a human weapon), that there are kids like Naruto who are similar to Gaara and yet not destined to be killing weapons. She hopes that Gaara's fate will be like Naruto and that he will be accepted as a person, loved and not feared as a killer/monster.
Well Gaara dies when the Ichibi, Shukaku is extracted from him. However Chiyo, an elder from the Sand village brings Gaara back to life by transferring her own life force [chakra] into Gaara.
So technically since it was the Akatsuki that extracted the bijuu, the Akatsuki killed Gaara.
And just for the record, Chiyo died and Gaara no longer has Shukaku.

nope, he didnt die well actually he did but naruto really really wants him back
For a while he is dead, but Chiyo, elder of the hidden sand village, brings Gaara back to life by giving him her own life force.

Actually he does die! BUT the elder from Sand transforms her life in to energy and stuff like that! I didn't watch the Entire Mov. but from what I REALLY WATCHED, this is what I remember!
ya i was just readin bout this he dies when the sand spirit gets taken away by the akatsuke and the old woman revives him by sacraficing herself
he did died
then later was revived by chiyo-baa in exchange of her own life
