Ahhh FLCL what an amazing anime, with absolutely stunning animation. Sad, to say no there are no plans to make more episodes- and I really can't see them making new episodes as a true sequel in the future. Shows get redone all the time though- so who knows what's in store in the future.
My favorite character by the way was Canti. He was just fricking awesome.
I'm not a fan of it myself (I was extremely disappointed in it - and it definitely wasn't a matter of "not getting it" - I just plain didn't like it), but I can tell you that there are no plans for new episodes.
It was always meant to be just a 6 episode OVA, and it came out in Japan nearly 8 years ago. If there was going to be more, chances are it would have happened long before now. I'm not saying it's impossible (similar things have happened), just that it's *extremely* unlikely.
FLCL is really awesome. I know alot of people who say they didn't like it because they couldn't understand it, but I got it the first time through. I usually get shows like that. I subscribe to Anime Insider and according to them and I half way agree, the show is done and concluded and will be no more episodes. They say, and if you look you'll see, that the boy who is the main character has his story told from begining to ending with a good conclusion. The part that leaves us wanting more is because they throw an entire nother weird story line that they don't explain, finish or give any back story on. While I think that part would make a cool whole nother anime, they probably won't. Sadly, I don't think there'll be any more FLCL.
PS - My favorite character is the Vespa. With the robot as a close second.
I wish they would make a new episode, FLCL Rocked!!!!!!
