Is Lex Luthor black in the original comics?!

Question: My friend found an animated picture of "Lex Luthor" and he looked fairly dark but I protested it was just the sinister lighting. My friend believes that in justice league he was black.
I know there have been revamps by different companies, etc. but is the original Lex Luthor from Marvel Comics black or fairly tanned?

He's always been portrayed as white.

Lex Luthor is a DC character not a Marvel Character.

He's got almost the same skin color as Clark Kent.

yea he was he looks more evil when he was black

Lex Luthor is from DC Comics and to my knowledge has never been black. He may have been drawn darker than normal but he isn't black.

nope he is Caucasian.

no but he was a scientist originally.

I always thought he was white.

Lex Luthor, like Harvey Dent/Two-Face on Batman TAS, was white, and just drawn a little darker than normal.

I`m pretty sure it`s just the lighting in the picture in question (if you follow the link to Wikipedia the first picture does look a little dark) but in all the following photos Lex seems to be Caucasian.
