He would more likely fall into a deep coma (possibly forever) rather than die if he kissed her too long. Kissing her for a few seconds would cause her to temporarily absorb his powers, but he would be fine for the most part once he recovered. Rogue on the other hand, would keep all his memories which has nearly driven her mad in the past (along with the memories of everybody else that she's ever touched). At the same time, Rogue is also unable to control anyone's powers that she absorbs, which could be deadly to anybody nearby. Gambit has said several times that it would be worth it to kiss Rogue for a few seconds, but she has always countered that she couldn't take the chance of putting him in a permanent coma or killing him if they did kiss.
There have been several occasions where Rogue has lost her powers and it seems like they always take advantage of those situations with more than just kissing if you know what I mean. During the X-Treme X-Men run, both Rogue and Gambit lost their powers "permanently", so they left the X-Men and moved in together in a community called Valle Soleada where humans and mutants lived together in peace. Since then, they have both gotten their powers back and returned to the X-Men (Gambit left again though).

you can only die if you kiss her for like 5 minutes str8. gambit can kiss her because when you kiss her she drains your energy, it doesnt kill you just makes you feel weak. i remember one episode when x-men cartoons use to come on fox, rogue lost her powers for a bit because something happened to miss marvel in the hospital .. thas how rogue got her powers from miss marvel, anywho in that episode gambit got to kiss her for long as he wanted because she didnt have any powers for a bit
He can't. He wants to, but he can't.
He can't. There was one time when she kissed him and put him in a coma. That's where she absorbed some of his memories, including his time with the Marauders. Now, when Gambit had his kinetic powers supercharged he could kiss her briefly cause he gave off something like static that disrupted her powes but once his powers went back to normal then they went back to being able not to touch.
