What about Daredevil ,I mean that guy has been through so much lately and just soldiers on.He has no physical powers only his heightened senses and radar.He has to work out to keep fit and strong .He is not bullet proof or have a healing factor
Iron Fist is my all time fav. His arch nemesis was Steel Serpent.

Why not Spider-man? Maybe the reason he is one of the most publicized superheroes is because of his influence and impact on comic book history.
With Spider-man, Stan Lee introduced to America the "teen" superhero, paving the way for titles such as "The X-Men" and "The Teen Titans". Before then, most heroes were tall, powerfully built, and free of any internal conflicts.
Peter Parker was a short high school nerd who was unpopular and insecure. After he became Spider-man, his most powerful enemy wasn't The Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus; it was his own guilt over his selfishness and utlimate demise of his beloved Uncle Ben.
I feel Peter Parker/Spider-man brought a sense of humanity to comics. More importantly, it let us believe that heroes don't have to be perfect, stoic, pinnacles of might, but can be your a middle class kid from Queens.
BUT! If you're truly looking for someone of more independent nature, Bigby Wolf from "Fables" is pretty kickass!
The Hulk. Who can mess with the hulk. Go to wikipeidia and look his powers up. Who honestly can mess with the hulk. And the only reason War World Hulk ended. Was because the hulk ended.
Even though, I think that batman is the best superhero because...to have powers and save the world your a hero and to not have superpowers and save a really huge, crime strike.n city your a superhero. Batman unlike most superhero's uses his brains and martial arts to save gotham from his arch nemesis joker, penguin and Mr. freeze
