What is DATTEBAYO???!
Question: This is probably a very stupid question for anyone reading it, but I really wanna know who or what these people are. I watch Naruto all the time and I know that they do the subs for the anime, but I often see debates going on on YouTube about what DATTEBAYO want and how some people disagree with them and lots of other things. Can anyone please fill me in on the whole situation? : ) Thank you in advance!!!

The situation is simple: Dattebayo has become a very popular fansub group, and as such is afraid of being targeted by the American company that has licensed Naruto. As such they have requested...politely...very many times...to please, please, please not upload their fansubs onto places like youtube, as that exposes all of that company much more than simply uploading to us individual fans.
They attempted to put a stop to the uploaders with a threat made at the end of last year -- which was ineffective. All we can all hope for at this point is that the American distributor continues to ignore Dattebayo's releases, so we can all continue to enjoy the most current episodes coming out of Japan....
if i'm not wrong it's something like dattebayo threatened to stop providing subs if fans continue to post the subbed episodes up on streaming sites like youtube.

Dattebayo simply is one of the companies that subs naruto for youtube and online viewing.
"Dattebayo" has no real meaning. The Uzumaki kid just seems to add them to his sentences, left, right and centre, as a sort of...dialect thing or style, really.
"Dattebayo" is also a website from which people can download subtitled anime using Bit Torrent. People mostly use it to download popular animes, such as Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece.
Well Dattebayo is kind of has two meanings. Th first one is that something Naruto as a childish term like Dattebayo is kind of the same as "Believe it" when they use that line in the American version of the anime.
Dattebayo is also the name of a company that allows torrent download of Naruto episodes.

It's a fan subbing company. If you watch Naruto subs you might have seen something by them. I don't really see a problem with Dattebayo. {I think it's the Jap. pronounation for Belive it!}
dattebayo ON the show means: BELIEVE IT! basically. if you have ever seen the english one then when hes always saying "believe it , believe it" then its the japanese version "dattebayo, dattebayo" but the translators kinda just got tired of having to type out BELIEVE it every thirty seconds (naruto) so they just started leaving it out.
The one that all the people online are talking about is a subbing company that publishes Naruto for us to download in US, but everyonce in a while they will withhold a Naruto episode or something and not publish it until a certain amount of another show has been downloaded.
Dattebayo is Japanese for Believe it! It's Naruto's catch phrase. ^^
