Are there any vampire anime?!

Question: Was just wondering if there are? And if there are and if you've WATCHED them, can you personally recommend some? Please don't give me a list from Wikipedia or something like that, I want personal recommendations.

Thanks

There are quite a few. It's one of my favorite sub-genres, actually.

My favorite by far is Hellsing. I'm just crazy about it. There is a TV series, but it really isn't very good (because they made some really awful changes from the manga - which is also excellent). What you would probably want to watch would be the ongoing OVA series. WAY superior to the TV series. Episodes 1, 2, and 3 are out now, with episode 4 coming up next month. This is an absolute must-see if you're looking for vampire anime.

-Black Blood Brothers - While I personally didn't *love* this, I felt that it was worth watching and enjoyed it for the most part. Definitely plenty of vampires in this series!

-Karin - a romantic comedy - a fairly unique, lighthearted take on vampires. Fun series.

-Tsukuyomi -Moon Phase- - About half the series is light and silly, and about half is dark and somber. One of the main characters is a vampire. Not your typical "vampire show," but pretty decent. NOTE: The sickeningly cutesy opening theme is not a good indicator of the rest of the series!

-Trinity Blood - The vampires in this one are fairly traditional, with some differences. Action, political intrigue, drama, and of course vampires...the series has it all, but it takes a while to really get going. It got good for me at about the half-way point. It is still worth watching, though, because it's fairly enjoyable, despite it's few shortcomings.

-Tsukihime, Lunar Legend - Vampires are non-traditional. While this was a decent series, it was fairly forgettable for me. Still, it has a LOT of fans, so you might want to look into it. Just becuase I didn't love it doesn't mean you won't.

-Vampire Hunter D (movie) - The vampires in both Vampire Hunter D and its sequel (mentioned below), are more typical/traditional than most you will find in anime. The sequel is the better of the two, IMO.
-Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (movie)

Lastly, Blood+ (TV series) and Blood: The Last Vampire (movie). While neither of these are explicitly about creatures referred to as vampires (despite the name of the latter), they might as well be. The similarities are hard not to notice. In general, if you like vampires, I recommend both of these, even though the word "vampire" is never mentioned in either one.

And that's all I can think of for now! And yes, I've personally seen all of these (I didn't pull this list from anywhere - I hate when people do that!). I definitely recommend Hellsing. You would probably enjoy the TV series, because if you've never read the manga, then you won't notice what they changed/removed from the story (and so it won't bother you). And I DEFINITELY recommend the Hellsing OVA, Hellsing Ultimate. It is turning out to be very, very impressive! As for the other series, I've given you my opinions on them, but make sure to look them up and decide for yourself too. I'm notoriously picky and often dislike series that other people love, so even if I said I wasn't impressed with something, it doesn't mean it's not worth watching!

I would watch Vampire Hunter D or Blood: The last vampire (movie and anime Blood +).

try hellsing and black blood brothers i think there very good but hellsing more it gives a kind of creepy feel but manages to put a lot of action in and a decent story line

Trinity Blood is a good one.
About humans, vampires and a vampire who feds on other vampires. (Crusniks) Used to come on CN, but hasn't lately. I recommend it

Its really not that bad, worth watching

it's master mosquiton '99

blood+
bleach (bounto arc)

Vampire Hunter D is bar none one of the best Vampire period. Anime or other wise. Sound recorded at Skywalker Ranch, which is why the sound is fantastic, and voice acting is great.

Trinity Blood
Blood+
Vampire Princess Miyu
Vampire Knight (currently a manga, but they are coming out with an anime soon!)

Black blood brothers
Blood+ (a must-watch!)
Karin (only if u r into shoujo animes)
Trinity blood (a must-watch!)

I highly recommend hellsing it is my favorite.
I recently watched Karin it was good but more of a comedy.
Vampire princess miyu is also good
The vampire hunter d movies are great
I didn't like what I saw of blood + much but I only watched a little so It could have gotten better.

I did however like Blood the last Vampire
Trinity blood was very good but still my favorite so far has been hell sing I am waiting on for all the ultimate episodes before I watch it because it was a killer to wait months to see the next one

I would suggest Blood+ and Vampire Hunter D. They're both really good. And when the Vampire Knight anime comes out, i'd suggest that you watch that too.
