and imagination requires a higher iq. (mentally disabled people often lack imagination)
go ahead and dream, it's human and it's natural. You can even develop a little crush if you want.
I think every person knows their mind's limits, and the only warning you should heed is to not overstep from imagining a hot guy from the pictures to thinking that that hot guy exsists.

No, it's common. I don't really see how its any different from thinking an ordinary painting or sculpture of a handsome man or a beautiful woman is attractive.
It's kind of a double standard if you think about it, though. No one would bat an eye if you said that Leonardo's David had a handsome face, but say the same thing about an anime character and you're likely to get funny looks!
Speaking personally, while I myself don't tend to develop "crushes" like some people do, I do think that many anime characters are very attractive.

I had used to have a crush on some of them when I was younger. Didn't say anything about it in a long time, but hey, when I did say I found out that an amazing number of girls also did. So I say it's common.

Absolutely, positively NOT! Admiring an anime character is NO different than admiring a movie or singer in real life. I don't see the difference. I actually prefer to admire an anime character over a real life entertainer because you definately won't have to worry about your anime love being arrested for drunk driving, getting knocked up at 15-16, or being in trouble with the law.
