Comic suggestions?!

Question: I'm trying to get into some new comics. I'm not really a fan of the superhero genre at all, being more into stuff like Lenore, Willingham's Fables, Sandman, Strangers in Paradise, & Blue Monday. Many of my favorite series are either finished, in a standstill, or don't have any new things coming out soon. Any recommendations? I've read all of Dirge, Serena Valentino, & Vasquez, if you were thinking of recommending their works.

There are a lot of good comics published exclusively on the web. My favorite is Phil Foglio's "Girl Genius" featuring superb artwork, excellent writing, and a healthy dash of silliness. Also good is "Paradigm Shift" by Dirk Tiede.

Less skilled artwork, but very well-written and very funny, is "Narbonic" by Shaenon Garrity. You can read the whole archived series online.

If you're over 18, try "Questionable Content" by J. Jacques. No nudity, but mature subject matter and language.

The only comic I could suggest might be Top Cow's Darkness or Witchblade. The Darkness especially doesn't have any superhero feel to it at all.

there are some great comics from virgin comics.check out their web site. i have no use for dc or marvel super heroes .i do like a lot of the vertigo stuff. shoot me an email and i will try to compile a list of my favorite comics.i have lots. peace, garnet
