I loved the first and third volumes of 'The Avengers' and was outraged by the senseless bloodbath that ended the third volume as a set up for the 'New Avengers' series (which I tried but could not accept as a substitute for the real thing).
I'm hoping it will still be possible to see a return to the "classic" Avengers sooner or later, preferably sooner.
Mine has been for the last twenty two years the Xmen.Even though rosters change the heart of the Xmen and what they stand for has always been there.

I suppose it depends on the roster. For RAW power I would go with the Defenders, Dr Strange, Namor, the Hulk, the Silver Surfer, Valkyrie, heck, even that crazt bird guy can be usefull sometimes
