Are Japanese anime pencil boards normally small?!

You may have bought a "mini" pencil board, which can be around 5 x 7 or 6 x 9. Although I can't tell you their size, the bigger pencil boards might be a bit smaller than an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper. I hope this helps you!

in japan, there are various standard notebook paper sizes. and they differ from the standard paper size in north america. standard notebook paper sizes include A4 (8.3" × 11.7") and B5 (7.2" × 10.1"). in north america, standard paper size is (8.5" x 11").
typically pencil board sizes are B4. though, you can find them in A4 or smaller sizes.
