Infinite Crisis --> 52 --> One Year Later --> COuntdown to Final Crisis --> Final Crisis

after Infinite Crisis Superman was depowered and Btman and Wonder Woman had gone off to reevaluate themselves and their place in the world. Then the main DC books jumped ahead in time a full calender year with no explanation. 52 was then released to fill in that missing year without the Big 3. I don't think it really ended up doing that quite the way it was originally intended, but man, it was a great series.
