Batman: Is he a Hero or Superhero?!
Question: My class is having a debate on whether or not batman is a superhero or a hero. I say that he is a hero because he doesn't exactly have powers. But, he could be a superhero because he is really smart.. does anybody else have an opinion on him?

Batman doesn't have superpowers, true; but he could be considered a superhero because he faces (with the justice league at least) threats to mankind of the superhuman nature and uses special gadgets that put him on the level of other characters that do have superpowers.
As a single, restricted to Gotham City character, Batman is a vigilante who takes law in his own hands in order to fight crime himself using his mental prowess, special gadgets and vehicles and his will to make a difference. In this context, Batman can be considered a regular hero.
It all depends on what angle of the character your class is focusing on. The Justice league Batman is a Superhero, the solo Batman is a heroic vigilante.
So, in a sense, Batman is both.
At least that is what I think.

besides..if we wears his underwear over his tights then he is a super hero...
He's a superhero without powers, it's as simple as that. He makes himself kickass with his gadgets and stuff.
he is a superhero a hero is some one like a paramedic or cop but he dosnt save one life at a time he saves a whole city or helps with saving the world he is part of justice legue so he is a super hero :) in marvel comics nick fury and black widdow are super heroes but have no special powers also hawkeye ect

he's more of a hero than superhero
he is a superhero..i rather believe that heroes are those who are real---and those who doesn't have batmobile---and made a mark to your country..
He's a hero alrite since he doesn't have any special powers, except that he is muscular, clever and agile+he's got many cool gadgets, however these have been achieved by human power and technology, whereas super-heroes would be once like spider-Man with his spider-sense and superman with his flying ability and all other things he has, so yh i agree with you he is a hero.
He is a hero not a superhero. A super hero has special powers like superman. Hero's dont have special powers they just protect good from bad.

I say a superhero, because he fights villains with super-powers, thus they are super-villains, so he is a superhero.
Next, I think the level of technology he uses puts him in the class of super-hero. He can mimic many powers with his Wayne Corp technology.
Finally, he is make believe further enforcing the SUPER part of hero, I mean some of the punishment he takes would kill a person in real life.
