He might (depending on the writer) get smart enough to use his heat vision later on and score a minor hit before being magically blindfolded (perhaps with a mirror maze, or similar effect, with supes blinding or injuring himself).
The GL is gonna depend on who it is. Jon Stewart might succeed. Hal Jordan for the win! *Never* bet against Hal Jordan. Lesser GLs need not apply.
