The Joker had his first book in 1975. His self titled book series only lasted for nine issues. There are some copies being sold on eBay right now. One guy has the whole nine issue collection up on eBay. Here's the link: http://search.ebay.com/the-joker-comics_...

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but the first time that the Joker appeared in the Batman series was the very first issue of Batman. Here's a sort of history of the Joker: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joker_%28co...
The first Joker appearance was back in batman #1 which is all but impossible to find these days unless you want to pay big bucks for it. There should be a reprint in a Batman trade someplace but I couldn't say which one unless it's one of the Batman Archives or Chronicles.
Now, he has had a mini series called Joker's Last laugh which is being released in trade form this coming April or you can try to find the single issues.
You could also read up on the origin of Joker in the very good "The Killing Joke". As the previous posters said, his first appearance was in Batman 1 and would set you back a bit of cash. Say 150,000 or so?
