IF You think that it means "Believe it" then you are wrong. In the English version of the show, Naruto says "believe it" in place of dattebayo, but it is NOT a translation. To answer your question straight foward, dattebayo is not a real word in japanese, english, or any other language. It is a made up word by the character Naruto. Its supposed to be childish, and its used in the same way that you would say "you know?" at the end of a sentence.

Means believe it in japaneese

dattebayo is the one
it doesn't have any meaning to it it's just more like a catch phrase
it's like how we say hella alot where i live
but in the dubbed series they translate it into "believe it"

well ii dont know about tebayo but dattebayo ive heard alot about is a naruto site that has alot info and new updates on naruto.. :D:D

I've been wondering that exact same thing! Sorry didn't answer your question, but now i'm gona hang out to find the answer. :) lol

dattebayo is kinda

like an exclamation mark!!!!!!!!

it puts emphasis on sentences^^

good question though

it don't got a meanin to it.....
And it aint "believe IT" at all thatz just lame....

Peace out!

Its his catch phrase....but " datte " means " but ".....

well actually ive kinda been wonderin the same thing as ive only everheard naruto say it. i dont know if its like a catch phrase or anything cuz he says it in serious situations too. i dont think it means believe it. and if datte does mean but then its not the only way to say it. demo (daymo) also means but.

Well it doesn't really mean anything. The believe it is used in place of dattebayo in the English verison. In some cases though it can be seen as believe it.

Naruto Rocks!!!!!

Just a phrase/word he likes to end sentences with. It's roughly translated to 'Believe it', that's what they used int the eng dub lol =)
