because they did the movies alla grant morrison where the xmen walked around without costumes wearing stupid little jackets
you know anybody - I mean ANYBODY - who looks good in spandex? Me neither.
in x-men movies they tried to get more interesting costumes and things that dont choke the actor/actress to death, they still should have found a way to wear the lycra anyway i think
he wore his yellow costume for the first 50 years or so then they gave him a new costume with the 20 first century.
Jubilee doesn't exactly wear her trademark yellow coat in the movie either.
Its just old, and wolverine is known for his looks so he doesn't need his mask all that much...
Basically because they (the people making the movie) felt it would look like crap in live action. I mean, bright yellow isn't really logical for a soldier to wear as it is way too visible. It would be too cartoony for a live action, serious movie and I feel that they made the right decision in not using the bright comic book uniforms. They even crack a joke about the yellow costume in the first movie.
