Who's the main character of Naruto?!
Question: i know it sounds pretty s2pid cuz duh, the title, but a lot of the first part of the series was about the rivalry between Naruto & Sasuke.
then Shippuuden is all about Naruto trying to get Sasuke back from Orochimaru.
so, technically, doesn't that make Sasuke the main character?
shouldn't the show be called "Sasuke" instead of "Naruto"?

It is Sasuke's (a long with a few other minor characters) "year" according to the mangaka. After a few months the focus will shift back off of Sasuke again. Just because there is a temporary focus on Sasuke doesn't make him THE main character. He still is A main character, though.

Ya right. It seems a lot of the episodes are taking place trying to get Sasuke back,but even though that's true the fact still remains the same Naruto Uzumaki is still the main character.

sorry to disappoint you but.... uh Sasuke is not the main character. kinda a secondary main character. maybe. Naruto is the main character and the #1 ninja ever!!

um not really. sasuke isnt the main character. the main character is still naruto because the anime centers around naruto's journey in becoming hokage and getting sasuke back.

well i would say it is Sasuke cause the manga is only focusing on him and Itachi in their final battle. but give it some time and it'll switch back to Naruto.

even though naruto is the title, i think the story is more about sasuke.(sasuke is masashi kishimoto's favorite character) as the series goes on, it will probably become more about naruto.
What you're saying is true but they wanted to tell a story about a Ninja boy who live and had a hard time with others then he started making friends. They wanted the struggles that people sometimes have with friends and stuff. That's why they are doing the show based on Naruto-san's life.
In the story Naruto hates Sasuke in the begining but just as they start having this bond between them, Sasuke Joins Orochimaru for power, to try and kill Itachi in the end. With that Naruto and Sakura (and the villagers) struggle to get Sasuke back.

Naruto is the main character but I read the Manga alot and I know that Sasuke is Masashi Kishimoto's fave character. It's in Naruto volume 1 In the author's notes.
Good question, but its Naruto. The story is about him and his life and friends. The parts about Sasuke are just things like fillers.

You know why it is Called Naruto Shippuuden ? cause Naruto is a hurricane & he will soon be able to summon hurricanes as a new Jutsu.
Though yes the show is about naruto seeking Sasuke to be a main Character Sasuke must be shown allot in the show witch isn't the case unlike Naruto besides Kishimoto isn't the Type of people that like Strong Charismatic main characters he likes Stupid yet smart ones with the characteristics of Naruto & here it is! also Sasuke is a main Character too but Sakura weren't going to be one until he changed his mind & made her one.
