Anyone know the name of this anime?!

Question: i saw it bout 7or8 years ago so ive only a vague memory of it.the main character is a girl who goes off on a spaceship to battle these bugs who want to destroy earth.every year in space is like 30years on earth so when she comes back everyone she knew is dead...i cant remember but i think it had mechs in it.the animation looked pretty old too.
