Question: watch it and have it ruin your life and make you an emo *** that nobody likes or get outside and do something, why are people so obsessed with japan, its just a country, its a beutiful country though ive been there, japanese culture is good and rich untill the late 20th century when anime and monga and crap ruined it! who agrees with me?

Sorry. Not me. It's just another hobby! Let it go. Obviously you've got something against someone who likes it, and you take it out on anime. Seriously, you don't need to be so rude! You could easily argue about a lot of things that ruin other countries' cultures, but of course, you choose anime/manga.

Well, that is your opinion and it is duly noted and respected. However, you are being quite hypocritical stereotyping people who are fans of this particular genre. Not ALL people who are fans of this genre, whether manga, anime or both, are "emo" and have no life. I am quite the contrary. I do have a life. I am a married career professional and I happen to be a fan of anime and manga. They are both something I enjoy but I do not "obsess" over it.

japanese animation in my opinion is much better than american animation you see more exciting and intresting shows that american animators cant dream of!
i personally prefer the action anime no other animation can make it as good as the japanese do. their movies such as spirited away are far more surpurior than other countries animated films!

Anime and Manga are just comics and cartoons from a different culture some people like it others don't. If you don't like it that's alright no ones going to force you to enjoy it, but you should respect people who do enjoy anime it can be very interesting and so can manga.
(and not all anime lovers spend all day watching it, I'm a very big anime geek and I still hang out with friends, Ice skate , learn dance ,take voice lessons , draw ,write, ect. AND I AM NO WERE NEAR EMO!!!!!)
Anime is actually a very enriching genre of video. You can learn lots of values and morals from anime. Not everybody is influenced negatively from liking anime.
Although I can't deny that most anime lovers are outcasts from society, it is only because most anime lovers are not openly obsessed with things like drugs, sex, and violence... or at least they wouldn't be engaging in activities dealing with such. I can say most of the anime lovers I meet are kind and have very high morals. We love to stay silly and have as much fun as possible, but there are times when we can be down. The only reason someone would be emo over anime is probably because they would've been emo even without anime. There are a lot of instances where people who watch anime use it as an escape mechanism from the horrors of their own life.
Not only does anime engage the imagination, it leads to friendships and connections that most people don't have. I'm not saying people who watch anime are better than others, hell no, because I know some really nasty, conceited ppl who like anime... but just take you for instance. Do anime people ask questions that openly ridicule something YOU like? I surely haven't seen it yet. People who watch anime usually have deep friendships because they have an innate sense of loyalty because it is engraved in their minds. Like samurai anime talks about loyalty to one's clan and leader, most anime watcher's learn from that and do the same for their family/friends. I am only talking from experiencing this all over the place.
And anime is insanely clever sometimes. And fun. Thank you for this question, it was great to mull over.

I will have to DISAGREE with you. First of all, watching anime is not ruining your life. Yes, it can be addictive but you will get
over that phase in a matter of time just like I did. Most anime lovers are usually excluded from society, but not all anime lovers are like that; they can have lives and go out. Hey, at least they are not into sex, drugs, smoking, and whatnot. They aren't "emo" and you shouldn't stereotype them as that because they may get offended.
It's called being an ANIME OTAKU! I'm sure you have at least one thing you love and/or are obsessed with. Anime is a part of Japan's culture and is what makes Japan so popular nowadays. We all have different opinions and I guess you don't really like modern Japan. You tell me this...exactly why do you think that anime and manga has 'ruined' Japan's culture? There are hundreds of manga-ka out there and I think that they would also agree with me. Manga and anime is a HUGE part of Japan's culture and your just going to have to accept it. Did you know that the first anime was made in 1907? So it wasn't in the late 20th century..it has been with Japan for a long time (probably even before you were born). There was a time before now where anime was outrageously popular. It was called the "Golden Age of Anime". This lasted in Japan from 1960's to 1980's. Now it is even more populra then ever.
Watching anime or reading manga can be beneficial if you really think about it. You can learn the basics or some words in Japanese. I got inspired to learn the Japanese language, now I am fluent at it 'cause of tutoring. There are also very good morals in the anime and/or manga that can teach you a valuable lesson. Watching anime has actually helped me in school, believe it or not. I was inspired by the anime character Tohru Honda, from Fruits Basket. She works so hard and that made me want to do better in school. If you are planning to be a artist in the future, like me, looking at the illustrations in manga helps you a lot. You get better at cross-hatching, drawing the different types of eyes in manga (e.g.: shoujo style), shading, etc. Also, watching anime opens up your imagination!

You may not think that anime is awesome but that's YOUR opinion. I am going to be completely honest...I was an anime hater. Well not really but I thought it was "stupid" and "childish". I decided to give anime a chance and I started to love it. You should too if you have not.
I hope that you will have a change in mind about anime!
I suppose you're against movies and t.v too? Anime and manga is just something a lot of people are interested in. I happen to love anime and manga, but that doesn't mean I don't have a life. Anime and manga is just something I do to relax and take my mind off everyday things, even if it's just for a few minutes. I'm sure you have something you do to relax you from work or school or something and you don't see any of us saying you have no life or anything like that. Different people have different interests so what! Also for me my love for anime and manga has nothing to do with where is came from. Anime and manga actually gives me inspiration with all my hard work. I'm an artist trying to accomplish something really hard and anime and manga gives me a break from all that and lets me get ideas for a new painting or drawing. Before you judge give it a chance and really listen to yourself because if you did you'd realize how much of a jerk and prick you sound like. :)
dude like if it wasnt for anime japan wouldnt have been so famous. did you know that japan has the second largest economy i bet that most of them is anime accessories plus for some people anime doesnt ruin their life instead it just gives them something to do or to talk about with friends so look just because you dont like it doesnt mean you should just go around saying how anime makes you emo because it doesnt why dont you try watching an anime and see how it goes and if you dont like then stop but dont be putting random crap of how anime suks becuase for some people they like it like me :)

Anime is great!Case closed and Sailor Moon are anime and they're great!It doesn't ruin your life!Anime can sometimes teach you about different cultures and beliefs.And also,you get to know more things,like how the victim was killed in a locked room or many other things!I know u can watch it on CSI or other,but the cartoon's cute!!You can even learn Japanese some times!
