Any HONESTLY good animes out there to watch?!

Question: I've watched Blood+ (Saya+Haji FOREVER!), Claymore (very good, albeit awful ending), Trinity Blood (ditto), Bleach (kicka**), The Third (good story), 12 Kingdoms (right now watching), but I hate weeding through the grand variety of anime just to find one that is interesting--meaning good story line, awesome fighting scenes and well-developed characters. Is there any anime out there that is worthwhile to watch based on my standards? I also dislike watching anything that borders pervertedness.

* Other animes that I've watched or am watching that I like (just to give y'all an idea):
- Samurai Bebop
- Samurai Deeper Kyo
- Karin (totally different but I liked it!)

Samurai Bebop, that's pretty funny. Twelve Kingdoms is great.

You should check these out -
Samurai X: Tsuiokuhen (Trust and Betrayal)
Baccano!
Seirei no Moribito
Noein
Denno Coil

For something a little different, you should try Mushishi. It's my favorite series. It doesn't have any action, but it has everything else you could want in an anime. The best art in any anime, awesome soundtrack, every episode is stand alone and yet by the end of each one, you'll really feel for the characters.

Monster is another favorite of mine. Monster tells the story of an innocent doctor who is trying to find the person who ruined his life, while at the same time, being chased by an obsessed detective. The beliefs of certain characters in this anime are very deranged, and show how ugly humans can be. There are 74 episodes, no filler. If you like it, then you would prolly like Death Note as well

Ya,Naruto!!!!

Naruto!!!!!

I highly suggest watching Naruto. Naruto in my opinion is one of the best anime/manga ever so far. I defiantly think is has lived up to the hype about it. The show has a interesting plot with very good art and charter drawing. The show includes action/comedy/romance and drama Here what the show is about. It is about a boy named Naruto who is an orphan and has a demon spirt fox in him that was put there when he was born. Later on Naruto finds friends that like him of who he is. He has made a decision be become the greatest ninja in his village (the village hidden in the leaves), he wants to become hokage, but in order to do that he must train like he never has before as well has battle through missions and interesting foes with his friends and learning new moves/jutsu (speail fighting moves) and marial arts. In between all this there are relationships between charters. Naruto is defiantly a series/show/manga that defiantly worth getting into and is one good epic story.

More info:

Twelve years before the events at the focus of the series, the nine-tailed demon fox attacked Konohagakure. It was a powerful demon indeed; a single swing of one of its nine tails would raise tsunamis and flatten mountains. It raised chaos and slaughtered many people, until the leader of the Leaf Village – the Fourth Hokage – defeated it by sacrificing his own life to seal the demon inside a newly-born child, whose origins are as yet unknown. That child's name was Naruto Uzumaki. The Fourth Hokage was celebrated as a hero for sealing the demon fox away. He wanted Naruto to be respected in a similar light by being the containment vessel for the demon fox. The village he grew up in, however, mostly shunned Naruto; they regarded him as if he were the demon fox itself and mistreated him throughout most of his childhood. A decree made by the Third Hokage made it so that the other villagers were forbidden to mention the event to anyone, even to their own children. However, this did not stop them from treating Naruto like an outcast. Although their children did not specifically know why their parents treated Naruto the way they did, they learned through example to despise the boy. As a result, Naruto grew up as an orphan in a lonesome atmosphere without friends, family, or acknowledgment.

All in all it has everything you could want out of anime/manga including action/romance/drama/and comdy.

1. Naruto
Summary- Twelve years before the events at the focus of the series, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked Konohagakure. Powerful enough to raise tsunamis and flatten mountains with a swish of one of its tails, it raised chaos and slaughtered many people, until the leader of the Leaf Village – the Fourth Hokage – sacrificed his own life to seal the demon inside Naruto when he was a newborn. The Fourth Hokage, who was celebrated as a hero for sealing the demon fox away, wanted Naruto to be respected in a similar light by being the containment vessel for the demon fox.
2. Full metal alchemist
In this world, there exists people with special abilities to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. These people are known as alchemists. This process does come with a cost though, the basic law of alchemy states that to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.

The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an accident. Edward managed to contain his brother's soul in a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he had to pay a great price himself.

To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosophers Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously.
3. Ichigo 100%
Manaka Junpei encounters a beautiful girl on the roof of his school. Pictured against the backdrop of the setting sun, with her wind blowing through her hair, Junpei manages to catch a glimpse of her strawberry panties. Embarassed, the girl runs away before he even gets the chance to talk to her. His only clue is the math notebook she dropped, with the name 'Toujou Aya' written on the cover.

The next day, he finds that the 'Toujou Aya' who owns the notebook is the exact opposite of the girl he saw on the rooftop. There's no way it can be her, can it
4. Ouran High school Host Club
Haruhi Fujioka is a scholarship student at Ouran High School, a fictional school located in Bunkyō, Tokyo. Because of the superlative cost of the school uniform, Haruhi resorts to wearing long slacks, polo shirts and vests. Combined with her large glasses and tousled short hair, Haruhi's look causes her to be confused for a boy.

Looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi stumbles upon the Third Music Room, the working place of the Ouran Host Club, a group of six attractive male students (Takashi "Mori", Mitsukuni "Hunny", Kaoru and Hikaru, Tamaki, and Kyoya) who spend their time charming and entertaining the school's girls for profit. During their first meeting, Haruhi accidentally knocks over a vase valued at ¥8,000,000, estimated to be $80,000.

In order to pay off the large debt, Haruhi is employed as the club's "dog" and constantly ordered to do menial tasks like serving food or cleaning up. The Club president, without knowing she is really a girl, promotes Haruhi to "host" as soon as he discovers her potential. Even after the truth comes out in the Club, Haruhi continues the charade and is allowed to pay off the rest of her debt working as a host; provided she conceals her true identity/gender from the customers.
5. Chobits
In the near future, personal computers take the form attractive women, called Persocons (editorial note: "persocons" actually means PC or personal computer in Japanese). Hideki Motosuwa is a poor student who failed his entrance exams to get into college. So, Hideki is forced to move to the city, get a job, and attend cram school in hopes of passing the next college entrance exam. He of course, wants a Persocon for himself, but is way too poor to afford one. One day, while passing a building, we finds a Persocon in a trash heap. However, his new find doesn't seem to be like the others he's heard about. She doesn't seem to have any operating system at all, and only says "Chii". As Hideki learns more about his Persocon (aptly named "Chii"), he finds that she is not of any known type, and most likely some sort of homemade model. He also learns of the rumor of the "Chobits", Persocons with the ability to think for themselves, instead of running only complex programs. Find out what happens between Hideki and his new Persocon, as she learns more about her environment, people, and life.

Samurai Champloo - great soundtrack, action and plot
Hellsing - art, story is great. it is gorey if you dont like that stip this series.
Lupin the 3rd - hilarious
Chobits - funny and sweet story, actually has morals in it o.0 This has a lot of jokes about porn, but was written by an all female team and is ultimately about love, they just make fun at the main character who is a single male

Noir - great plot
Grave of the Fireflys - this one is a movie but is wonderful, very sad very very very good.
