Ya,pretty much. Even though it is true that Naruto is still a genin he still is stronger then the others,and still goes on more tough missions the really anybody else. Also because he trained with Jiraiya,they said that is good enough to be a chunnin or possibly higher,Naruto also learns new techniques higher than what his level really is,making him more advanced then the others. Even though he is still a genin it really doesn't matter,because he still has a lot of experience anyway. The only difference is sometime h get sent out a low class missions,but it doesn't really matter because the missions usually turn out to be more then what was suspected and turns into a higher level mission like an A-class.

i agree with you but you also have to look at not all of his missions started out as A class. like the one you mentioned about the bridge. That was supposed to be a simple escort duty that turned into a huge fight with haku and zabuza. so the author has found a way to get him more experience by sending him on lower missions that some how end up being A rank when it's all said and done.
but the whole thing about him still being a genin is crazy. it's always brought up and it doesn't really mean anything.
absolutely...the only reason he hasn't ranked is because
1) chunin exams were interrupted by invasion of the sound
2) he left to train with the pervert
if you watch him fight next to the other rookie nine and team gai he's just as good as any of them
