Why are some kids not allowed to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender?!

maybe it's becuz it has a lot of epic fighting sequences to it
but yeah! i think that's wrong! it's my favorite show too!! i can watch each episode one by one and NEVER get tired of it.

There is like "mild" fighting I guess you can call it. And maybe some parents think it's too violent for their kids. I guess that can be a reason.
I don't know what this show is but I am sure that your parents think that it will not be good for you to watch it. There is nothing wrong with your parents. Some shows are not good for children to watch. In fact, your parents are probably better than other parents since there are shows that they are not letting you watch.
The problem with kids these days is that their parents let them watch any show that they want.
well my parents almost made me stop waching it because it talks about chi. and that we dont believe in that kind of thnig. but i mean come on its a tv show. well at lest they still let me watch it.
It's became some parents really dislike the "fighting". However others are totally against the whole "controlling elements" theme of it cause it's "unnatural" and would never really happen. And the last set of parents just don't like their children watching anime [even if it is American anime].
It's the same thing with Avatar: The Last Airbender as it is with the Harry Potter books and movies. A LOT of my friends aren't allowed to watch Harry Potter cause it contains "magic" which isn't real -- yet they have all seen Lord of the Rings.... hm... it really makes me wonder....
Parents will always be parents and sometimes they have weird rules. Sucks that we [well, not you] kids can't do anything *sigh*.

People no longer have an understanding that a cartoon is just a cartoon. You see people hurting themselves trying to emulate what they see in the cartoons, and it's all their fault. All cartoons, even the most kiddy-kiddy toons, have violence. In most of them, the violence is what makes the show funny. Up until I was 12, my mom forbid me from watching The Simpsons, which actually isn't that bad a show for kids.

but i dunno, i find it harmless.
i didn't know people didn't let their kids wathc that, thats aimed mainly at little kids. if it was a bit more violent (e.g. bleach) i'd understand but avatar barely even has any blood.
