Symbolism in Host Club?!

Question: I've just finished watching it [totally amazing!!] and well I noticed there would be certain scenes that seemed different. [I.e. The light bulbs, the picture frame and the HUGE rainbow flower] If anyone would like to, could you tell me all the symbolisms and what they mean? I would love to know! ?

Hm, the other one I can think of is the kite thing in that episode where there's a medical examination (episode 3 I belive). When the kite went down was when Haruhi's opinion of Tamaki went down since he said something stupid or self-centered or something like that.

And there's the banana thing which doesn't really count as symbolism I guess, but more of a parody I guess.. where in that episode where in the end Haruhi ends up kissing that girl (I think it was episode 2). Tamaki accidentally pushes Haruhi because he stepped on a banana peel.

It's been a while since I watched OHSHC, so that's all I can think of. I should rewatch OHSHC sometime..

Edit:

"Tea Cup ride: The episode uses an amusement park's Tea Cup ride as symbology for Kanako's situation." - (Episode 2) Under trivia at http://www.tv.com/ouran-high-school-host...

"Kite: This episode uses a kite to symbolize Haruhi's respect for Tamaki." - This is the one I was talking about.. it's in episode 3. It's from http://www.tv.com/ouran-high-school-host... under trivia.

"Coloured roses: There are colourful roses at the end of the episode, one for each club member. Tamaki is green, Hikaru and Kaoru are peach and blue, Honey and Mori are pink and navy, Kyoya is purple, and Haruhi is red." - From http://www.tv.com/ouran-high-school-host... (Episode 14)

"Episode Title: "The Door the Twins Opened" refers to two different doors. One is the door to the Host Club, the other refers to the Twins finally opening up to other people." From http://www.tv.com/ouran-high-school-host... (episode 20)

It's things like this that remind me why I love OHSHC.

I don't know about the rainbow and the picture frame, but what i do know is that every time a light bulb turns on, another character knows about Haruhi being a girl. It's similar to those times in the movies when a character suddenly gets an idea and a light bulb appears.
Hope i helped a little... I like Ouran HSHC too!!!

i know that the light bulbs- represents all of the hosts and as the light bulbs light up it represent each host realizing that haruhi is/might be a girl and the final light bulb gone up is tamak'is and then they are absolutly sure shes a girl

idk about the rest so sorry.

hope it helped though ^^

the light bolbs is when they figure out shes a girl
but i dont knwo abotu anything else

lemme explain ^^

i. the light bulbs symbolizes ideas or insights, as many answerers have written, especially concerning Haruhi's gender in episode 1.

ii.The picture frame-I am assuming u are referring to the drawing of the flower in a picture frame by Kyouya. The picture frame symbolizes Kyouya's limit to reach what he wants and the flower inside the frame is his potentials, limited by the frame, thus it could not have blossomed as beautifully as it should be.

iii.The huge rainbow flower-initially, it was inside the frame, but after what Tamaki said to him, it blossoms into a myriad of rainbow colors that could not be constricted by the frame. It symbolizes Kyouya's potentials and motivation to reach out further from what he is confined to. He can now show his true potentials(or colors) and thus the flowers blossoms beautifully to reflect that. The choice of rainbow colors shows his life is full of possibilities(as there's no limit to what he can achieve) and happiness(as he can be his true self and not hide it).
