This question is tough. However, I do believe that my favorite anime would have to be Naruto, followed closely with Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist.
Naruto is constantly intriguing to me; especially in the latest chapters. I won't ruin it but there has been an important battle and it has constant suspense. It's hard for me to stop reading it or wait for the next chapter to come out. The characters are also enjoyable to keep track of and the idea of going out on missions as a ninja is quite appealing. :) It was also the first anime I saw really so it gets first dibs...
Bleach is also invigorating. I also enjoy (in Bleach) seeing new Zampaku-to's being released and it contains a good amount of humour as well as seriousness; it has an equal balance.
This all also applies to FMA. It is a very...'inspiring' anime i think is the word? It makes me feel empowered after I watch it (unless it's a funny episode or something) and it gets me thinking.
Overall, anime is a wonderfull experience and Naruto seems to have achieved that.

I like Naruto because I love the story plot and Kingdom hearts (i don't know if it is classified as and anime .I know its a game) because I love how Sora will do anything for his friends and Kairi.Soo romantic
Naruto hands down. Honestly, I don't know why. I just like it, and you could call me a Sasuke fangirl. My friend likes Naruto too, and has a bunch of pictures on her phone. One of the reasons I probably like it is because my two favorite characters (Sasuke and Naruto) are outcasts like I am and nobody really understands them.

Naruto ^ ^ I love it because of the plot, adventure, humor/jokes, the many funny and different characters, cute guys XD, how it always keeps me on edge during the fighting and wanting to watch it more after it ends.
Death Note
It's not like any other anime I have ever seen. Great plot, characters, everything! Just everything about it is amazing. It's so physcological too. The main character starts off as an inoccent high school boy and ends up as a justice-crazed criminal! I mean, it's not like everyday you see an anime about a notebook that has the ability to kill people just by writing down thier name!
I'll say my favorite anime and manga:
Anime: Death Note
It's completely engaging, has underlying themes, wonderful animation and plot, has wonderfully developed INTELLIGENT characters, and it makes you think. Unlike over-publicized Naruto, it is short enough to lack stupid and pointless fillers, shows that someone to the time out to think about things before they produced it, has pretty good English translations lacking the words "believe it", and is of an overall higher quality. I also personally love the first theme song.
Manga:
Hellsing
Need I say more? It's as thought-provoking, and plot-worth-reading as Death Note. And it has a kick-*** vampire -- Alucard. One awesome sentence. The manga is beautifully drawn and the OVAs (The Dawn) is nicely animated. It's a little on the gory side but is still extremely enjoyable.
Ichigo 100%. It is the best romance anime I have seen.
It has to be Death Note. It's mature, and it has a plot like nothing else. This is the only anime that I know of that has an evil main character. It's not for the simple minded though. It's very complex and there are some things that you'll have to figure out on your own. That's what makes it the best anime. Oh and the ending is expected and unexpected at the same time. IF you don't get it, then you'll have to watch it for yourself.
Trust me, the characters in this anime are highly intelligent. Their level of intelligence is unbelievable.
