I don't think that ever happens. Orochimaru never really talk about the Akatsuki and the aren't any flashback of that happening. Although the Akatsuki do talk about it when he was a member and there is one scene where he still his a member and tries and takes Itachi's eyes.

Orochimaru never talks about or at least never has a flashback about being in Akatsuki. It is only mentioned by other members of Akatsuki that he was ever a member of the organization.
