1)Learn trivia about famous anime/manga
If you know any authour coming to the convention maybe you can research about it so when the author talks you know a bit about the book he/she wrote
2)Join contest
Mostly convention holds contest,like show off a manga you written..
3)Cosplay
You should definetely cosplay..Although the costumes are a bit expensive,but if you're going to another convention next year then you can wear it again
