I need a short, humerous anime series for our Anime Club viewings. Recommendatio!
Question: Winding down our meetings, we only have a short amount of time left to start a new series for our anime club viewings. Our club members have a notoriously short attention span, and it's difficult sometimes to watch serious series. Our most recent anime viewed was Haruhi Suzumiya, which they loved. Fruits Basket and Azumanga Daioh were also a huge hit.
Can anyone recommend some more really good series that are relatively universal (there's about an equal number of guys and girls) and amusing--as well as on the shorter side?
If not short, at least comedic.

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu is perfect for you. It has amazing humor and appeals to a huge range of people. It was also produced by the same people who made Haruhi. And it is very short.
Edit: Fumoffu is the second series in the FMP! franchise- but it's a comic side story away from the main plot and doesn't require you to watch the first or second series.

I'm not sure if it's anime but it's fantabulous! It has literally made me choke with laughter. You can find episodes on youtube.
When I first saw this question, I thought of Doujin Work. It's only 12 episodes long and each episode is about 12 to15 minutes or something like that. I'm female and I liked it, it's the kind of anime that has a lot of misunderstandings.

And I second FMP? Fumoffu, but I might be biased since it is one of my favorites. But it's good and it's actually funny, compared to some comedy anime out there that isn't.
Since you said Fruits Basket was a hit, Ouran High School Host Club might work as well. It's also reverse harem/shoujo/comedy/some romance. Though some people think it's shounen-ai for some reason, even though it isn't. It's 26 episodes long. Info:

Lovely Complex's 24 episodes long, romance/comedy/school. It's actually funny, there's some drama though, and I don't think I liked the middle for some reason. Info:

Ouran high school host club.. It's about 27 episodes and HILARIOUS!!!
samurai champloo was hilarious but it had some adult humor the age grouping would probably be 15 up. it had 26 episodes
ouran high school host club is funny as well and is probably viewable by mostly teens 13 up. it had 26 episode
inuyasha was really good and funny but its a long series about 167 episodes. ages 13+
full metal panic (all three series but fumoffu is funnier) was absolutely hilarious but it might be ages 15 up
Trinity blood was funny at the right times and it had a awesome plot. but it had blood recommended for ages 16 up about 25 episodes
D.N.Angel was another good one but i think it appeals mostly to girls. 13 up around 25 episodes
Chrono crusaide was hilarious as well but had some blood and stuff. ages 14 and up
Death note is pretty good and i had some laughing moments.

Air gear was so funny but had a bit of cursing ages 15 up

... I hope you can find something soon :) most of these have at least a bit of comedy in them though some of them may be too serious for your club.... i mostly recomend Gakuen Alice
