Possible, sure. Practical, no.
Some guy up in Alaska a few years ago made a working 17-foot tall mech torso frame. Think it was made out of wood, but the arms moved and the waist turned. Obviously, though it ate fuel like no other, so there was little chance of adapting it to be mobile. (He then sold it on eBay to try to fund a metal version.)
Obviously, a rich government wouldn't have issues with money and could use more efficient and powerful motors. But they won't. Why build something with complex legs that would need hundreds of motors and servos and stabilizers just to let it walk, and throw its center of balance so high in the air that it's easy to knock over with a single rocket, when you can just put it on tank treads? Why build something with intricate arms that can break easily and will need a ridiculous amount of maintainence, when you can just use a tank turret with its two well-protected joints?
While I'm sure mecha will be built eventually, it will have to be done by a person as rich as say the US military is now, and someone who doesn't care that they are throwing away a lot of money on a pet project.
Yes it is possible. Humans are powerful. We have a broad knowledge. But maybe it will take time to build gundams. We are still in the infant stage of computers. Then after computers we may be entering a new stage that where in gundams and othe rflying things would be involved. Can't you imagine it. Very interesting. But i advice you not to wait, it is far away from this generation or year it may take 100 years from now.
yes our technology upgrades every year or so yea but personly out planet is already over populated so we would need a bigger one im thinking jupitor so fix it up and we will be fighting with zoids,transformers and of cause gundam tounaments...how cool is that lol
Its possible it just that the cost of it would be super expensive the parts alone would be over an estimated $700,000,000.

And the cost of one gundam would probably be more than the treasury of some countries.
However, I would love to see this. Giant robots are cool.
